Combo-box Input Control
Control calculations in your worksheet with easy to create, easy to use drop-down menus of variable definitions.

Advantage and Description
Calculations are driven by variables, and for some engineering problems, you may need several different variable values to provide a complete picture of the engineering topic you are documenting. Use Combo-box Input Controls to pre-define variables and variable values associated with different calculation options. You can change sets of variables related to specific use cases by selecting a new option in the combo-box drop down menu.
For example, if your worksheet calculations change depending on what metal is used, with different metals having different characteristics, you can set up a combo-box to define all the variables and variable values associated with different types of metal. You can then select the metal types in the combo-box and the worksheet is recalculated using the characteristics of the selected metal.
You can define multiple variables for each combo-box selection. You can use multiple combo-boxes in your worksheet, and you can include them almost anywhere in an equation. To enable easier conversion from legacy Mathcad worksheets, legacy web controls are converted to the combo-box in PTC Mathcad Prime 7.0.0.0.
Standalone Converter
Convert Legacy Mathcad worksheets to PTC Mathcad Prime 7.0.0.0 without the need to install the legacy version of the application.

PTC Mathcad Prime 7.0.0.0 provides a standalone legacy worksheet converter that you can install alongside the application. You no longer need a separate installation of the legacy PTC Mathcad application to use the conversion process.
You can install the converter from the PTC Mathcad Prime 7.0.0.0 installer, and the converter is available to use within the product.
Symbolics Enhancements
Updates and enhancements to the new Symbolics engine in PTC Mathcad Prime 7.0.0.0.

PTC Mathcad Prime 7.0.0.0 fully embraces the new symbolics engine that was introduced in PTC Mathcad Prime 6.0.0.0. The legacy symbolic engine is removed. The new engine enables updates and enhancements of symbolics with each new release of PTC Mathcad Prime.
In PTC Mathcad Prime 7.0.0.0, the following symbolics updates and enhancements have been made:
• Better error notification―Issues with input expression are reported more precisely
• Improved performance, including keyword simplify, keyword solve and definite/indefinite integrals.
• Enhancement of keyword simplify and keyword simplify using max modifier. Faster calculation and more simplified results.
• Enhancement of keyword solve and keyword solve using fully modifier. Solves the following cases:

◦ Polynomial and cubic equations
◦ Equations with symbolic functions
◦ Logarithmic equations
◦ Trigonometric and inverse trigonometric equations
◦ Exponential equations

• Enhancement of keyword float―Improved calculation accuracy for Bessel functions and improved rounding.
• Updates to variable assumptions―You can now replace assumption real (default) with assumption complex using a modifier.
• Improved support of definite/indefinite integrals and limits―Added supported cases and improved performance. Support for integrals of piece-wise functions.
• Improved keyword series―Support binomial series, improved series expansion of functions at infinity.
• Improved work with polynomials, powers, and roots. Improved performance for large exponents.
• Improved support of limits and integrals with polynomials.
• A new modifier generated―Makes assumptions about generated variables in solutions when used along with keyword solve.

The zoom, scroll, and focus functionalities are enhanced for improved readability, review, and edit of PTC Mathcad worksheets. Zoom is now implemented on the page you view and not the page on which the caret is located. When scrolling through a worksheet or placing the caret in different locations, the worksheet does not scroll unexpectedly.
Major gridlines can now be turned on or off from the Document menu.
API Guide
